The alternate thread title was ........
Who was the woman you saw last night ? Oh that was Just Jane !
Avro Lancaster NX611 is owned by two Lincolnshire county farmers, Fred and Harold Panton and now forms the central attraction at the Lincolnshire Heritage Aviation Centre. It represents a living memorial to their late brother, Chris, who was lost on his 27th operational mission while flying with RAF Bomber Command in WW2.
East Kirkby airfield was a tad cold at 6:30 pm on Saturday evening, but that really didn't matter when four Rolls Royce Merlin engines came to life!
Photography was challenging. My camera's autofocus could not focus in the poor light, so it was a case of doing it manually and hoping for the best. This worked fine for the static shots, using an 8 or 12 second exposure. For the actually taxi shots ..... I had problems
These are the only TWO pictures worth sharing and neither is sharp ......
Hopefully there will be another run in Spring 2008 and I'll be going back for another try
