There was a picture posted on the internet a few years back of Kermit Weeks flying his Duck in the air while towing a waterskiier behind him on the ocean or in a bay somewhere in Florida. Does anyone have that? Can they please post it here. I forgot to download it while I had the chance. It was one of the most unique pictures I've ever seen!

Once my Dad gets back in town, I'll see if he'll finally transfer my GML/USAFM pictures. I've got a more recent one of the Duck there (the more pics the merrier, no?).

I'll try to get a hold of Wichita Air Services and see if I can go up there. I've been mulling over the idea of interviewing them for a magazine article, but I haven't got a clue how to go about doing that.

(no luck finding the old picture, but I'm pretty sure that a giant fuzzy silhouette isn't what you want to see)

Oct. 5, 2002, Only while step taxiing, not flying. Just after this shot the skiers tried to barefoot, one fell right away the other stayed on for 100 yards or so. We pulled the tail hook off and put in a big clevis in its place.

James, I read in an Air Classics that the Peruvian Duck "Amauta", and Kermit's other Duck,
BuNo33614 N55S are one in the same bird. Hope this helps...

James...have you had a chance to confirm whether these 2 birds are the same??

Didn't a Duck sink in the Ohio (IIRC) River in the 80s-90s?
IIRC, there was a fatality but the Duck was raised.

Anyone know which plane it was?

Is it still with us (sorry to sound more concerned about the plane than the person, but I'll hope you know what I mean).

John, yes, IIRC, that's correct. Off the cuff I don't recall which Duck it was, but I'll check unless someone else beats me to it.

Ahhh, thanks James, but I'm not sure what detail was vexing me back then. Those notes are somewhere in my last hurrricane evac boxes and I'm not sure where they are. A 'friend' also "helpfully" arranged my chronological database to alphabetic, so I haven't a clue!
