How many PB4Y-2 might fly again ?

I was wondering now that the Fleet of PB4Y-2 Fire bombers has been disbaned (Too bad they sure could of been used this past week in Cal ) Might anybody know what the statius is on them and How many might be restored to fly again ?

Please let me clarifie I was wondering how many might be restored to WW2 USN Configuration I know that the LSFM is well on it was to being done just that (dose anybody know if they have located the proper motors for it or will stick with the B-25's ) How many actually have been move out on Grey Bull ?

The LSFM 4Y will stick with the 25's.

Not as accurate.

But probably more efficient? (I'm guessing) As well as it’s easier to maintain allot more of the same powerplants than multiple examples. But then again, you guys still have allot of different engines. And interesting aircraft attached to half of those engines.

Regardless. I have been eagerly waiting to see this bomber become the fruits of the LSFM's labor! As a new addition to the Warbird bomber community, and as a type of warbird we’ve really never seen on the airshow circuit before.

I think it's not a question of cost to operate, as the P&W engines and correct cowlings are available out there. It's a question of cost to purchase and retro fit the P&W's back onto the airframe. It wouldn't be cheap, and for right know, they've got usable engines with a proven design. Unless someone wants to pony up the dollars for the correct set-up, we'll all have to enjoy LSFM's Privateer as is!
I can't wait to see her fly the first time!
