The TV was on all day at work as we kept tabs on the Fires in Cal as we have many workers that either have family or friends in that area. A friend told me that she saw a very large Red and White Air plane dropping Water over a housing area. Could this be the a Mars Sighting ?
She told me that it had four props on it . She first called it A Spruce Goose type ( in referance to it size) Dose anybody have comformation on this ?

She hasn't dropped anything yet that I heard of but she will. She flew over my house on her way down today. Glad I was outside at the time.

C-130's are ready and will also be active.

Maybe CA will re-think their decision about not using C-130's since they "took" jobs away from the private sector. These C-130's that are the same ones that were stationed at Point Mugu before CA said "Cya".

Wow, I didn't realize the Mars could hold 7200 gallons of water. That's equivalent to 59,760 pounds of water. To put it in perspective, that's the same amount of bombs that a B-52 can carry. Pretty impressive for a 60 year old airplane.

Does anyone know if only one Mars is down in Cal or two?

The MARS is grounded for now. :-( It took a bird strike to the norizontal that did some damage. No word on if it just a skin patch needed or if it will be more problematic.

From what I heard, the bird strike during the ferry flight caused very minor skin damage - all was repaired overnight.

Just saw the Mars on TV during evening network news doing drops. And it wasn't stock footage taken over B.C.
