Great video of John Mohr at GML. Lots of close ups almost right in the cockpit.

That guy is good!

He flies that airplane like it is a part of him. I love coming close to having a feeling like that, where you know what you're plane's going to do when you tell it to do something. I imagine John feels like the plane is an extension of himself.

Amazing.

Cheers,

David

I saw John Mohr for the first time at the Toronto show this year and could not believe the way he flew the Stearman, very impressive. He departed the Toronto Island Airport after the show on Sunday and the last we saw of him he was five feet off Lake Ontario about ten miles out heading past Etobicoke. Kind of scary but very impressive.

He does more flying in 10 minutes than Extra/Sukhoi flip flopping tumblers do in a month.

Superb stuff, I had no idea a Stearman can be aerobatted like that right off the deck! And on a stock 220hp was it? Think John should be asked to peform at Flying Legends some time.

Whazzat? How do you pronounce that?

Stearmans are a true joy to fly. Build good bicep muscles doing aerobatics too. Definitely teaches you patience and basic flying skills that will serve you well. Everything you do needs to be exaggerated.

Especially the climbing back up between maneuvers part (for us mere mortals, anyway!) What Mr Mohr doesn't know about handling a Stearman obviously ain't even worth writing down for posterity.
