I have recently finished most of the painting on my TBM project.I have been working on it every spare minute for the last 9 years and it is starting to take shape.I am now faced with the dilema of how to come up with $50000 in the next year or two to pay for engine overhaul.Maybe you WIXers can help with some fundraising ideas so we can get my TBM in the air where it belongs. Please shoot any ideas towards me that you might have. And no I can't borrow any more money! I will post some pictures soon of restoration. Thanks for your help! Charlie Cartledge

Hi Charlie,

I've been impressed with the progress you've made on your TBM !! You were a great help at Toms place when I picked up N7142A and have sent me many parts and pieces towards my project so I feel it's only proper that I am sending $ 100.00 towards the WIX R2600-20 engine fund :D and I challenge all other WIXERS to step up and help another very worthy project get off of the ground !! Drop Charlie a line if you can help him out who knows maybe a drawing of donors may get their first TBM ride? Can you post us before and current photos? :D

Thanks Mike

Thank You Mike! I appreciate your donation and kind words.I am still working on getting some good pictures on this site. The first 20 people that donate $200 or more to the R2600 fund will recieve a certificate for a ride when she is completed. It's going to be at least three years till she is flying though.I am hoping to get a good responce so I can write"TBM Sponsored by The Warbird resource Group"on the side of the airplane.Let me know what you guys think! Thanks, Charlie Cartledge

Heck, get us some good pictures, and maybe some frequent updates, and I'll betcha that you'll get plenty of donors. It's lots of work to do those updates, but it sure seems worth it to get the input, advise, and sometimes some helpful funding from everyone out there. I might even send a little donation your way. ;-)

THIS EXTENDS TO ANY AND ALL WIXERS INVOLVED WITH RESTORATION PROJECTS

I am willing to design and host a blog with photo hosting capability to any WIXer who is working on a restoration project of their own or on a team (like the PBJ in Camarillo). It includes:

- Setting up WordPress (blog software) on radial-group.com or (if Scott is cool with it) warbirdsresourcegroup.org

- Basic design to match your aircraft or theme... including buttons for RSS and donations (if you have a PayPal tip jar)

- Photo FTP account on the server, so your photos can be hosted native instead of through Photobucket or the like.

- Instructions on how to setup and use Microsoft Live Writer (beta = free) ... truly the EASIEST program to update with.

The only catches are:
1) A banner on the site that advertises WIX or WRG (or any future WRG warbird related advertisers - no spam),
2) a small banner saying that I designed it,
3) You must make at least one update per week! And put a post on WIX directing people to it!

Simple as that! For an example of what you can do with a restoration blog, go to Brian Karli's blog on his 1918 JN4D Jenny restoration at: http://curtissjennyrestoration.blogspot.com/

PM me or email me (email preferred) if you are interested. If you'd like to call me, please see my contact details at: http://www.ryankeough.com

(This will be reposted in WIX)

I tried posting this last night but was having connectivity issues. Please set up a paypal ID, its a lot more convenient than writing a check.

Yeah, paypal is the way to go. That is a cheap price for a ride in a TBM

Man, you started with that hulk? What a resurrection!!!! You are clearly doing the Lord's work. I tip my chapeau to you (and to Mike Rawson) for accepting the challenge to save these birds rather than letting the scrap man get 'em. It sure looks by the quality of the work that the wait will have been very worthwhile.
