Nice! Wow im impressed!

Im really on the cusp of being part of the youngins at 20. (Just turned on Sept 13.) -What I wish i was doing on my birthday? -At the Reno Races!

But Ive always been interested ever since I was young. I have my grandfather and dad to blame! One day I'd like to be able to afford one of these birds, but we'll see. Unless I come into some form of monertary fortune, those dreams will have to stay just dreams.
 :D

I'm 20...

First off, my dad had an airplane book when I was little that I could never put down. Then what really did it was sitting in the FG-1D cockpit at the World of Rubber when I was little. I don't know what it was but I was hooked! :D

14, First ride in an airplane was when I was 18 months old with my dad. I been training in a citabria for a year now about once a month. Have almost 9 hours and about 15 landings. I have tons of unofficial hours with my dad in a c-150.

I'm 26 and been working on warbirds for over 9 years now. Got real lucky and got started at 17. Only been a wix'r for a few months and don't post much though. And as for Trey being in the front seat of the 6 with his dad in the back, I'm jealous as hell!!!! Ya little punk!!!!!!

I'm 24, I just love aircraft/helicopters going to take my A+P test in February 08. For my final senior project in high school i did a 30 minute presentation on how the Battle of Britain changed the out come of ww2 i got to talk to a lot of old veterans during that time. My father also likes history and my house i grew up in is a small private museum in my town.

It is really cool to see that many of you guys and gals are young. I am 27 and have been working in or around aviation since I was 13. I started cleaning airplanes, and helping at Air Heritage.

Heck I practically live down the road from you! I have thought about joining MAAM and volunteering some time. Someday I will stop thinking and start doing

Yeah Man, you should definately stop by... Saturdays is a big volunteer day, but we're here 6 days a week and there's always something to do. We have a good group of guys of all backgrounds and abilities. It's a great place and you'll have a good time

Holy Cow,

So I started this thread yesterday and got quite a few responses right away which was really cool, then the automatic "E-mail me when someone posts" thing stopped sending me stuff so I didn't pay attention to the thread. I just checked the thread and sheesh.... There are way more posts and way more young WIX'ers than I ever imagined.

Like someone also mentioned, I too had no idea of the ages of most of you guys and gals.

I'm really happy to see so many of us young people interested in warbirds. It is definitely something I know I will never get bored of.

The best thing of all is when I consider how proud all the warbird veterans would be to know that their triumphs, and sacrifices are not going to be forgotten when they pass. It appears that our generation will still have a strong admiration for the greatest generation and what they accomplished.

I also look forward to seeing many of you around on the airshow circuit in the coming years? Or Decades? Anyways, you'll probably see me in one of the CMF's little airplanes. And if I have my way, our soon to be acquired (but still looking for funding to buy it) PBY Canso.

Cheers and thanks to everyone to adding to the conversation.

-David

This is me already a few years into my obsession.

I just turned 46, but have been told by many people that I often act like a small child (mostly when I don't get what I want). :D
