I absolutely want to fly warbirds, but dad told me the other day that my first solo in the T-6 will be at the missing man at his funeral.. :roll: I'm the youngest thus far, anyone under 18?

I'm 24. Mostly a lurker here for the past few years, but I post when I'm pretty sure I won't be talking over my head and can add to a conversation. I've been flying since I was 17, and hold Comm, ME and Instrument tickets. My all time greatest flying moment was my two flights in the B-17 Nine-o-Nine. Include some brief (but loggable :wink: ) flight time in the right seat.
My ultimate dream is PIC time in a warbird. I used to always wish that some warbird veteran would just take a guy like me under his wing and show him the ropes. But I've learned now that the only way to get anywhere (unless you have very deep pockets to afford the plane yourself) is to just get involved. Volunteer, put yourself out there. It's not what you know...but who you know that gets you in the door mostly. Of course...I still don't really know anyone :lol:

I wish I could again. My Anxiety and Blood Pressure medication eliminates me from joining those who fly :(

It blows, but I have to deal withit. At least I still get Co-Pilot stick time with my uncle in his birds.

This age thing is amazing! I never would have guessed some of your ages. Many of you I would have thought were older. I’m shocked to find that I received my ticket before many of you were born! Wow!

29 here, and what got me interested? Well guessing that is was my first WOH in 1987, seeing all the WW2 planes flying. I have always been interested in WW2 but to see the planes fly I am just in heaven. I just got a new job so I want to start taking flying lessons and join LSFM and possibly one day fly the SBD Dauntless or F6F.

30 yrs old here. I remember having my own CAF jump suit when I was 4. And a t-shirt that said "I'm a Confederate Air Force Brat."

Planning on getting my certificate soon and working my way up to flying Warbirds. I've been flying since I can remember with my dad (Old Shep) and granddad in our SNJ and a recent ride in Rednose reallllyyyy gave me the bug.

I'm 25 and went to my first airshow, Wings of Eagles, in 1988. I probably got into aviation because of my father who owns a '46 Taylorcraft. Although I'm much more interested in warbirds then he is, he tends to like more of the classic aircraft. I considered becoming an airline pilot at one time but did not ultimately pursue that path. I'm now looking for an L-bird project to restore.

My two oldest (17 & 14) are into warbirds, but at this stage in life the planes have taken a (slightly) lower priority to girls and sports.

Heaven for them this summer was wandering around Airventure while exchanging e-mail addresses with cute girls from around the globe! :wink:

I agree, Dan. But I will say age is a state of mind and I chose to be in the under 35 group...... :lol: :lol: Yeah right. But very glad to see all these great young warbird people here....at least one who I have known since his very young childhood and it's great to see him flying !!!

My folks took me to my first airshow before I was a year old! It was in San Marcos, TX in the winter of 1982 and they had a big ole show that year with Tora, Tora, Tora, and a great lineup of aircraft - mind you I don't remember it, but neither can I remember when I didn't like airplanes, so I think that must've done it, because there's no one else in our family (close) that has much of anything to do with aircraft. Oh, and how do I know about it? Well my parents have told me about it and we still have the program.
