Great Airsho though, minus the sunburn... Several wixers (Alan Brooks, Eric Downing, Bill Greenwood etc.)

The paint job was donated or the Wildcat?

The paint job is that of a British Commenwealth (I believe New Zealand) Martlet. It is authentic for the type. Originally, it had a U.S. paint job, but was in need of freshening. The man, Bob Reese, had also donated the airplane. Along with that, he donated the I-16, I think the AN-2and the Stringbag before his untimely passing. This year a chapel in the Memorial Garden will be dedicated in his memory.

Taylor,

Where are you hanging out? I am all over the ramp from one end to the other all day.

In the Mustang pic, that's pilot Dr Stan Musick (blue flight suit) and Phillip Beagle leaning over the canopy. The Dixie Wing had non-stop action on selling P-51 rides all weekend......... In fact, you had a choice of aircraft from a PT-22 (absolutely gorgeous!) up to the B-17 and B-24....... everyone stayed busy........
For the Vietnam segment of the show we had 2 O-2's (including Lady O-2 pilot herself Ms Brinkley), TWO Huey's, AND a Cobra! Plus overhead support by Spooky and the spads.... pretty cool.....
Alan

Good to see AirSho is getting some coverage with the Gathering at the same time.

Alan, quick question for you. Is the Polikarpov relegated to static display permanently, or will it fly again in the future?

Another question...what's the story behind the partially assembled Fairey Swordfish in the CAF hangar? Will it remain static, or be a flier?
