How are we doing for a tally of who is going to GML?
Is there a running list of who will be attending and when?

I would love to see a good get together each day, preferably just after the flying for the day as to not be interupted by a "better" photo opportunity. The one attempted at Geneseo was an interesting event.

Also, the gatherings at the hotels in the evenings are great in places like Willow Run, is there any talk about organizing something since we will be coming in from all parts of the globe? It would be neat to meet the whole group.

K.L.

Count me in!
I'll be there, but I'm working the flight line, so I can only get to the chosen photo site when I'm off-duty.

I'm there. Media pass, so I'm shooting, but I've got a bit of a random schedule. An event Saturday will keep me away 'til about 12:00, and I've got an MLS game on Sunday...woulda been shooting Beckham for the second time if he wasn't injured.

MLS game has an F16 flyby.

I'm up for having a beer after the show, which always makes for a fun picture.

There is always a crowded bar/pub after flying is done.

Me too - oh wait... i can make the duty schedule...

How about we post a time that will work for us worker-bees when we see the 'final' flying schedule? from what I've seen so far...we may have a *little* time sometime mid-day to early afternoon where we could all abandon our posts for a quick photo - op... I think my hotel has wireless...

We are arriving into CMH on Friday at 10:00.
I will be driving down to hang out on friday, we got 4 day passes but will not be attending on Thurs. and I also bought grandstand seats for us for Sat/Sun.

We are staying in Grove City, and will be heading to the Columbus Zoo on Monday before we go home Monday night.

The zoo's 8 minutes from my house, and about 35 from where you're staying.

Really great soo, and the kangaroo walkthrough is a personal favorite.

I want to have a hat made with "WIX" on it to wear at the show. Don't like the "cafe press" hat. Is "WIX" trademarked?..........John

Just a quick note on how big a thing this is going to be.

I was just sitting in an industrial park parking lot on the side of a small airport here in Massachusetts. It was about 9AM and all three of Collings big rigs were out on their first rides of the morning. Two guys standing a few cars over from me were talking about the airshow that they are going to next weekend. I asked if they were going to Columbus? YUP!
Three strangers 1200 some odd miles away, and we are boarding flights to CMH this week. This thing is going to be huge!

I think I got one sold on Geneseo next year. Next thing you know, they will be Wixers!

See you there!

Actually, I had figured out how big it will be way back when people from all over Europe were posting their intentions of coming

As we get closer.....

There is alot of talk on ASB about a get together on Friday night in the area of Stringtown Rd. in Grove City. It seems as if there are a bunch of them staying in that area, which is where we are staying also. The local guy helping with a place to go for dinner has talked to several area restaurants and most do not take reservations, but are willing to accept groups of 20-30 with a few hours heads up. Smokey Bones, Longhorn and a few others on that street along with a Barbecue and pizza buffet place have been mentioned.

There is also chatter about an ASB group photo at PE some time during the weekend. I was wondereing if we should plan on a photo attempt around the same time or would it be too chaotic?

Even better is a template for ASB name tags posted by one member, in two color choices for those of you who like them to match your oil stained airshow T-shirts! I dont have the Computer ability to come up with a WIX name tag, he used business card templates, but I did make up a WIX/ASB seat marker for us complete with screen name and home town, and will be sitting in the grandstand area Sat/Sun.

this week at work is going to be tough, See you in a few days!

So who on WIX will have an aircraft there? I'd say that is a great spot to start for a Photo Aircraft.

I'm also said to say that "Tailhook Brewery" will not be coming to the Gathering. Due to the move to TN I have not brewed in several months and stocks are very low. :( Unless one likes Barley Wine and Pseudo-Lambics.

Don't worry Tim, Columbus has at least 4 brewpubs that should make up for it somewhat! I'm gonna try and hit at least a couple.
