Great catch Collings - way to go!

I thought I had read somewhere else that Pima is supposed to get a Viggen too for display. Anyone know if that is true?

Enjoy the Day! Mark

Mark, our understanding is that the Collings Foundation Viggen is the only one coming to the US.

The plans are still in the early stages, but for now it is going to come here to the facility here in Stow. If it is determined that we will be able to fly the aircraft, then we will move it to another facility.

Good luck with it. I'd drive across the county to an airshow just for that!

This is awesome. I know Caroline and the Foundation as a whole will be exited to see the Viggen in this country.

Hey Ken, do you think we could take it out on tour with the bombers?

If they can keep it flying, you guys are in for a real treat! There were three aircraft that were air shows were made for,
The Viggen, Lightning and the Vulcan.
(I'm sure that you guys in the U.S. will add a few more to that list too!)
Good luck to the Collings Foundation

I really hope the Collings Foundation gets an airworthy Lightning some day!

As one of the last two flyable Viggens, I have seen this Viggen FC/13 flying in 2006 during the Airshow at Satenaes, Sweden. Find some pictures of the airshow and the Viggen via the following links:

I sure hope to be able to see a Viggen in flight!

It has been one of my all time favorite aircraft, even though I have never seen one "alive"

Good for the CF guys!

Saludos,

Tulio

Good luck indeed. A few years ago Saab gave me a flying Lansen [one of then three airworthy machines]. The deal was squashed over liabilities if it was ever to fly again.

sweet - Viggen is an awesome machine - too bad it'll be based out East - we'll rarely see it in the West - to much $$$ to bring a machine like that long haul cross country.

The Drakon that a Sacramento Saab dealer sponsored a few years back was a real thrill to see flying.
