Steve - thanks for the shots of the F-86D's from your Dad. Can you give us an idea of what squadron or squadrons the Sabre Dogs were with and the appoximate dates and locations of the photos?

What the heck did they do to that sabre? Stucko? Or is that not a real aircraft. I've seen somewhere a F9F Panther done in the same fashion.

Close - it's gunite (swimming pool cement) and it's a couple inches thick in places; see the "Roadside Attractions" thread for more info and photos.

Scott, the serial on it is 52-3784 per the Surviving Sabres site. It's located at Palm View Park, 1340 East Puente Avenue, West Covina, CA. The Tennessee bird, at the Parthenon in Nashville, is F-86L 53-668. Feel free to use the photos for the Registry!

(oh- the correct spelling is "stucco" - but the plane is certainly stuck-o  )

I thought it was the proof-of-concept airframe for the Adobe Jet Industries XF-69 Indurate.

My dad has past away some time ago and I never got to ask him much. On the back of some of the pictures Anderson A.F.B. 1956 Guam and F-86 Iwo jima, in his hand writing and 41st FIS(Skyrippers) in mine from some time ago. I was doing a Google search on 52-9989 and came up with this Surviving F-86 list http://f-86.tripod.com/j.html 04-8205/52-9989 F-86D Yamanashi, Nihon Koku Koen/Japan Aviation Academy.

(After searching 41st FIS) The 7th AF controlled three important late FEAF, early PACAF units. First, was the 41st Fighter Interceptor Squadron that flew F-86Ds out of Andersen starting in August 1956. This was Andersen's largest unit at the time, and it had the significant role of air defense for the Marianas.

Scott,

forgot I had this one as well. I think this airplane is now in a museum in the UK.

Scott,

Better late than never, right? (I finally broke down and joined the digital age this week--it is much faster to get the photos on the web.) 8)

The first time I saw her put back together in the US...in her Bolivian paint.

52-4731 - N86NA the last time I saw her outside...in need of some love to fly again.
