Hi all,

I just found out some fantastic news! An A-20 Havoc has been shipped to the 1941HAG museum to finish restoration to flying conditon! I am not sure where it came from but just think there is a A-20 restoration going on in Geneseo!!


Now I think I got a good excuse to visit the museum once more this year.

Apparently the A-20 was a wonderful plane to fly. Maybe I'll get my chance someday!

I'm thinking it's the one that's been at Air Heritage, Inc in PA. The first news entry on this page of the AHI site says that the aircraft is no longer at Air Heritage.

I'm rather excited about this... perhaps this is the motivation I need to take an hour's drive out and see the HAG Museum... been meaning to get there for some time, but it just never happens.

About 1 year ago someone said it would be moving there (I'll keep that person nameless mostly because I might get him confused with the other couple of guys that are involved in the same museum that frequent here.

But that is great news, lets hope the B-25 and A-26 follow soon. I wonder if that would be too many aircraft to keep up and flying for a small grass roots museum? Which reminds me I need to send in my member ship dues first thing Tuesday. I think I'll join Kelly also.

Awsome! I've always loved the Havoc, and was mildly bummed to hear that the Lone Star bird was headed Down Under. Maybe I'll get to see an A-20 in the air someday after all.

I thought 1941 HAG's main focus was to get the C-119 back in shape?

I believe the HAG is supposed to putting an interior in the C-119 and polishing it up a little. They are replacing the engines on the C-47 and have just acquired a Staggerwing and C-45 in the last year.

I think the idea is to have the A-20 in a new location wher Mr. T can have more control over it and hire people to finish the restoration, not necessarily using HAG volunteers.

The LSFM A-20 will fly here in the US first before being shipped to AUS.

Air Heritage has been a revolving door for David T's projects for many years. Most of the heavy lifting of Butch Schoeder's P-47 was done at AH. Lysander, Reliant, P-39s, B-26 have all passed through the hangar at Beaver County Airport. The crash of Nine-0-Nine was the imputus for the creation of AH and countless volunteer hours were spent on all of these aircraft. David financed the building of the AH hangar and was paid back many times with sweat equity.

We plan on doing a cleaning of the exterior on the C-119 first. The A-20 project will not interfere with this project since a seperate group is going to work on the C-119. Including myself.

Why am I hinting negativity towards this?
