I just wanted to send out a farewell and a big thanks to all the WIX members for all the fun I've experienced on this forum over the last couple of years. You guys are a wealth of knowledge and I've learned a lot from you guys when it comes to warbirds.

Unfortunately I've asked Scott to yank my profile and have decided to leave this site due to some recent problems with about a half dozen members that find it necessary to whine, snivel, complain, and bitch about the most trivial of discussions. I've seen this time a time again from one thread after another...if someone gets in a civil argument with them about a topic they start whining and complaining and ask Scott to pull the thread. I've seen this in both the off-topics forum as well as the main "hanger" forum as well. I'm a member on a lot of web forums and I can honestly say I've never encountered such a small group of miserable, prudish folks who seem to enjoy complaining when the discussion doesn't go in their favor. I'm also tired of seeing brand new members being bashed on this site because they dare ask a simple question and the so-called "experts" find it necessary to bash, belittle, and embarass them because they aren't as knowledgeable. It's starting to look more and more like the "flypast" forum as time goes by! :x

Image

My advice to these people is to lighten-up and relax. We are all on this site to have fun and learn about warbirds. If you don't like the topic of the thread then don't read it!!! I swear to god there are some uptight people on this site that have the personality of a wet mop and the sense of humor of a funeral director! :x

I just spent the last couple hours going through and deleting most of my "off topic" postings so that nobody else can come back and start whining about a thread I posted a year ago which offended them in some way, shape, or form. Since I have over 1,400 posts it may take me a while to delete the rest though. In the mean time...if you're offended by any of my postings or threads please send me a PM and I'll move the offending post to the top of the list...OK! :?

I wish you all the best! (rant off)

John

I don't know you, but if some people get their pants in a bunch, tuff s&$t. let 'em whine and don't take to heart. Some have to much time on their hands.

Sorry to see you or anyone leave for that matter. I agree though. I've stayed away from a few threads that I thought got a little wacky. But I do get tons of useful info and I always look forward to Jacks pics and other goodies. Overall I think the moddies do a good job of keeping up with all this and I still feel it's one of the better forums. Again, sorry to see ya go. Hope to see you back here someday.

John, I hope you find time to stay on Wix. You have had many funny things to say, some pertinent ones, and in general your discussions were at a higher level than the 3 or 4 Kool Aid drinkers we have contended with.

John,
Don't leave because of a few bad apples. Don't give them the glory of making you leave.

I say stay and stand your ground. With all the post you have posted, I feel that you have contributed a vast amount of knowledge.

I say we all step back a bit and get back to the basics of aircraft.

If they want to complain, simple, go somewhere else and complain.

I hate to see you go, please reconsider.

C'mon Dude, "quiters never win and winners never quit". You are a winner and have had many great posts that I have enjoyed. There are a lot of knobs that flap their gums. I don't take it personally. If I am not interested in a thread that seems to me to be frivilous, screw it, I don't follow it. There are a lot that I have no interest in and many that I think people start and one response will take the thread in a completely different direction. I blow it off.

I have one now for a friend John Dinou that was starting to get off track and I redirected back to the topic.

I'll blast stupidity and then move on and I will linger and participate in threads I have interest in. Don't bail because someone pi$$ed you off.

The sh!t-stirrers come and go. We are here to promote and educate and learn from each other. There is a vast resource here and you are a contributor to it. We would hate to lose your input.

Hi.

I've seen a lot of posts on the Wix board but this one is rather depressing. The one thing that I enjoy about Wix is the variety of opinions, ideas, photos, and knowledge that pops up here. I don't read all of the posts but there is usually something interesting to read about. I have to admit there is a lot of different personallitys here with different opinions but for the most part its all fun and entertaining but I agree the personal attacks are uncalled for. I hope you rethink your decision as I have enjoyed your posts and would look forward to reading many more. I find it disappointing that a few so called "Experts" would drive good people away by intimidation. I know a few others have felt the same way but the Wix board should be available to all especially those that want to learn more about warbirds and aviation. Ask that question thats how you learn I'm always amazed at the ansers that can be found here. But beware of those so called "Experts" as they usually are still living at home in their moms basement.

Thanks Mike

John;
I hope you reconsider. I've always enjoyed your insight about many things and especially turrets.
I find that people who claim to be an"expert" usually aren't. The real experts are the ones who others have recognized as an "expert" through their experience and contact with them.
It's easy to jump into the fray and get all muddy, it's harder to stay above it all.
Stick around, 99% of us would like you to.
Blue skies,
Jerry

John, don't do this, stick around, don't give the trouble makers the satisfaction of knowing they drove you away from this great site.
