Fairchild, Birmingham Airshows Postponed

FAIRCHILD, BIRMINGHAM POSTPONED

Two air shows scheduled for the weekend of September 22-23 have been postponed.

The 2007 Wings and Wheels Air Show, originally scheduled to be held in Birmingham, Alabama on September 22 and 23, will be held in May of 2008.

Due to high operations tempo, the Fairchild AFB Air Show scheduled for September 22 has also been postponed. The base expects to reschedule the show for sometime in the summer of 2008

I’m not sure. I’ve been out of the airshow side of things for many years now, but I’m still an ICAS member and receive the emails.

Odd, I can't find anything on the Birmingham Airshow online. The only "Wings & Wheels" I find is the Millville "Wheels & Wings" airshow...

As for Fairchild, I shortened my original post too much. It says that Fairchild is due to ops tempo (understandable), but Birmingham has typically been a half-decent airshow and its delay until next year is kinda odd, especially having been scheduled for the end of September.

Could it have something to do with the shows being the same weekend as the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends, and AirSho?

AirSho is the next weekend (29-30 Sept). Birmingham was 22-23 Sept.
