Mon Nov 22, 2004 10:19 am

I posted the link on my main page to the Lockheed 10 and 12 suvivors page. Still a work in progress. Thank you to all of you on this site that have helped with pictures and info! As always if you have more pictures and aircraft history send them my way. Use the link below my signature.

Good stuff Dan.

BTW... I just sent you a pic of a 12A at the Militaire Luchtvaart Museum. I don't have an ID for the airframe. Do you?

Mike,

Thanks for the picture! Looks to be an airframe I dont have a picture of. What is the location of that museum? Canada? I'll look it up on my lists and see if I can figure out what serial number it is. My lists are fairly complete I just need to get the info listed on my site.

The museum is Holland. Cees Broere and Harm-Jan Stating were good enough to give me a tour of the place last summer when I was in Holland. I believe the location/town is called Soesterberg, but that may be the name of the former Air Base where the museum is located.

Regards,

Mike

Just a FEW thousand miles off! :D

I cant seem to find any clues on that airframe at all! Maybe Cees and friends can help find the serial number on that one.

Thanks for your help Mike... did you notice that I have used a couple of your picutres? 8)

The last time I asked I don't think Cees knew the ID.

I made an inquiry on the Classic Props list and go this response...

Hello Mike

This is L.12-16 c/n 1306
Delivered 6 February 1942 to Netherlands East Indies Govt. as L2-38
Last with Scan-Fly (Denmark) as OY-AOV (regd. 09-04-63)
Exhibited at Egeskov Museum as L2-38.
Transferred to Dutch Military Aviation Museum, Kamp Zeist 1985.

If you like, I can send you a scan of the aircraft when it was exhibited at
Egeskov Museum

Greetings
Nils Rosengaard

So that ends the mystery!

Hi Chaps,

The MLM a/c is actually a Lockeed 212 - the Military version of the 12, which may be an explanation for the mystery.

'Survivors 2002' Roy Blewitt has it as Unit reg: L2-38 Manf No: 1306 Type: 12-26 and the Soesterberg, was displayed as L2-100. Yes, they also have a book about it!

Cheers

Ah great! Thanks for the research Mike, James! This matches up with the info that is in my Lockheed Twins book listed under S/N 1306. 1306 is actually listed in the Lockheed 12 section but not as a 12A and not under the 212. Who were the engineers that sat around all day dreaming up all these numbers!?!? I have a hard time reading thru the info on all these overseas museums and figuring out what towns and airports they are located in! At least for me it is not easy to read! :?

Thanks again!

James,

Do you know the serial number of the Lockheed 12 at Chino with Yanks? I have the picture you sent me and wanted to make sure I have that serial number.

Thanks!

Adding some more details to my page tonight...

Yanks

James,

Sorry... I jumped the gun in posting here. One of your emails to me had the info. It is N93R, SN 1257.

Anyway... thank for your help so far.
