What is there to see at WP and what will I miss if i don't go to Legends? I'd like to see more but I wouldn't want to miss a Mustang. Mights go to New York for a few days after Legends.

When you say Wright-Patt, are you talking the base AND the museum? If you're talking the museum only, an entire day is the very least you'll need to see the entire complex.
If you're talking about spotting at the base itself, I'd suggest staying at Rick. A C-5 or two might be up and the Springfield (and Dutch) F-16s could make a pass or two, but other than that it's been so slow here this year that missing any time at GOL just wouldn't be worth it.

If you want to have a great view of C-5's and fighters, go over to Boerne Stage and buy Ober lunch and watch everyting in the world drive by going into Kelly

Okay, the overall answer? IF you're lucky enough to get your name on the list for the restoration tour, get there Friday and start with that. Then plan on leaving Sunday at 5
Three large galleries, the annex, the restoration hangar, the outside air park, the memorial park and the control tower. A large gift shop. Several short films throughout the buildings. And so many newspapers, posters, descriptions, histories and the like that it would take a speedreader a week to get through it all.

Lets be realistic, who can spend a week in one museum.

1-I work
2-I'm Married

Is it worth it to try and fit both MGL and NMUSAF in one trip to OH?

I need to make a plan! :?

I would say 2 days would be sufficient to see the whole museum. I usually go to NMUSAF once a year and I'm able to see the museum in that amount of time. What you should probably do is plan on doing the restoration tour and the Presidential and Experimental hangers on the same day, and then try to see the Early Gallery or do a quick walk-through of the main museum area, maybe look at the outdoor displays as well. That way you could see what you wanted to spend more time on the next day and be able to plan accordingly. I highly recommend spending alot of time in the Cold War hangar, there's alot to see in there! Good luck with your trip!

There seems to be more of a buzz for the GOL than Reno this year. Wonder why

Crap! (sorry to all your friends across the pond, its not quiet the same over here as it is there).

A friend of my wife's decided to get married that Saturday! :x

My wife actually said to her that we had plans but we'd have to figure that out, can you believe that the airshow was not killed out right but allowed for negotiations about how to hand it? That is one of many reasons Kelly is a Keeper for wife! :D

So the plan is that we will go to the show Thursday, Friday. Saturday we'll drive to Central PA for the wedding and return for the airshow Sunday. Everyone seems happy with that plan so hopefully it all works out.

Tim

Well sadly it has come to the point where I have to say I can not go. If the event had been earlier in the year, maybe, however now I am in college, and I can not come up with any way to go there, spend at least one night, and return. Time and money have hurt me here! Any idea if they'll make any sort of video for the event? It will kill me to be up here in North Bay while all the Mustangs are flying around 10 hours south of me! Have fun everyone!
