Hello Alan,
You need to talk to Gene Whitt. He worked on radar in WWII and developed the radar simulator in WWII that used a water tank. He is a fascinating guy who recently went under surgery. Sadly the anesthesia messed up his brain and he is struggling to recover. I think that talking to you would be good therapy for him. He wants to share his knowledge with as many as possible.
His web site on radar is:

He also was a flight instructor extraordinaire and he has written down all of the amazing information that was in his head on this web site. If you or anyone wants to learn about flying this is the place to go:

I have a small collection of WWII radar gear and manuals and I will help if I can. I have several SCR-720 components as well as a nearly complete APQ-13. I also have the APS-13, SCR-718, APG-5 and APS-3 and 4 systems and components. Let me know if I can help.
Thanks,
Taigh
