I also booked at Best Western Executive Suites 9/27-9/30.They said they still have some rooms available. This will be a great way to end the Airshow season. By the way, this is my first post after being a lurker for a few years so I'm glad to come in from the dark, so to speak.

I also booked at the Best Western Executive Suites - Columbus East, 9/26-10/1! :D
Arrival at Columbus (CMH) on the 26th @ 22:10 hours, flight CO0753 from New York (EWR), flight CO0071 from Amsterdam Schiphol.
And... I have world wide coverage health insurance for the trip. ;)

I just noted that Jim Beasley was taken off the Geneseo roster and that now Dale Snodgrass has been added with P-51D Excalibur(my fav P-51). :D

But Im kinda bumbed that Jim will not be there. How come Jim?

Geneseo? Isn't this a "Gathering of Mustangs" forum?

It is not on the website, but I confirmed with the hangar manager at Vintage Wings that the mustang, RCAF 9575, will be attending. It is not on the Mustang Gathering website.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I'll be there.

A note: if anyone wants to see the Memphis Belle (for people like me who get to Ohio on an average of once every three years), you'd have to miss the show (or part of it) on Friday to do it, since like... tours of the restoration facility are only done on Friday afternoons, and I've missed my chance for the past nine years.

Since I'm carpooling with someone who can only leave on Thursday, I won't get there until Friday anyways. It happens, I guess.

Is there a list of the other types attending?

Like what P-38, P-47, and what axis aircraft will be on ramp?

website is very general about anything but P-51's

also what is the total number of 51's up to?

TIA :)

I filled out a volunteer application several months ago. As I'm a professional firefighter, I found out yesterday I'll be helping set up "THE WALL of FIRE" Pyrotechnics that is! Look for me in a PYRO T-shirt...................John 8)

Added to the "other" warbirds list is
P-38
P-40
P-47
P-63
Spitfire
B-17
B-25

Does not say which ones, but I'm sure those details can be easily filled in by the folks here.

Kelly will also be attending the show with me, so we should be able to have another Wives of WIX gathering also.

I think I may need to think about brewing up some more Tail Hook Brewery Beverages so I have some stuff to bring with me. My stocks are getting pretty low.

I emailed them and asked about specific aircraft and/or other warbirds they are trying to get. (3 P-38s had been mentioned to me before) The reply was that they were not ready to release that kind of information yet.

:?

I'll be there for sure! I have a room and new Digital camera to go nuts with. I wish we could bring "Ol 927" but unfortunately, she will be at the CAF's Airsho event that they choose to hold the same weekend :( . I really think this is going to be the premier event of the summer, if not years to come!! Hope to meet some of you there.

The B-17 will be "Yankee Lady"

My partner in crime in technology affairs at the museum has spent the better part of three months taunting me because I have a wedding that weekend, so I couldn't sign up as aircrew for that show. :(

Thanks Ace!

What will I miss if I go see Memphis Belle and then blast over to GML?

I've been trying to get to Wright-Pat for years, and now trying to pack much into that trip.

How long does it take to really see NMUSAF?
(I'm planning on all day thurs and til 12.30 fri.)
