But I still ask, particularly to those of you with experience in crash investigation: Have you ever seen photographs of a crash site in which so large an aircraft was so totally consumed?

Have you ever seen a plane go into a large building like the pentagon? Aluminum melts around 1300 degrees and there isn much steel ohter than the engine and landing gear and the were somewhere inside the building . That fire was hot enough to melt glass.. If you look at the pentagon it was like a oven

Interesting information, Broken Wrench. Do you think that every bit of the 757 disappeared into the building? What about the wingtips and the tail, especially the vertical tail? Were they, too, consumed until they melted into a puddle?

Surprisingly, a similar discusion took place not long ago in a Spanish language forum. The ponent of the conspiracy theory, advanced exactly the same arguments as you:

Remains
size of the airplane versus the hole in the Pentagon wall.
absence of black boxes
absence of photos of any recognizable wreckage.

His point was to suggest that a cruise missile had hit the Pentagon. It took a while, but I managed to locate a couple of photos that show pieces of the airplane wreckage.

This link, shows airplane wreckage, as well as debunks the most often repeated items regarding 9/11 and the Pentagon:

The 757/ 767 was my birds at the lazy U and there just isn't that much metal there.. I know from the gate it seems like a brick but to the mechanic we see a box kite. it is a very fragile airframe. you should have seen the patchs I had to do for lightning strikes.. Heck between the circumfrentials ( the round structrual part of the aircraft ) the metal is chem milled to .040. So think about it when flying that there is only a little plastic and .040 metal between you and the wild blue. There isn't much to that tail. pretty much all aluminum.

I remember seeing video on CNN or one of the other news channels which showed video from a security camera outside the pentagon. Although it wasn't the best quality it does show the aircraft plowing into the building.

Some info turned up by some googling. As Rod Serling would say, "submitted for your approval..."

Image

And the website it came from...

http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/911_pentagon_eyewitnesses.html

And here's the "mother lode" of Pentagon wreckag photos..

http://www.rense.com/general32/phot.htm

The conspiracy theorists seem to love "cherry picking" the evidence to find the one peice that doesn't seem to fit, and building thier entire case around it. One conspiracist claims that United 93 couldn't have crashed in PA, because a Cleveland TV station had a report on its website that morning, in which somebody from the mayor's office supposedly said the plane had landed safely at Clevaland Airport. Obviously a reporter simply ran with some incorrect info..which was rampant that day. In any evolving event getting so much real-time media coverage, there are bound to be a few false reports and inaccuracies until the dust settles.

I thought this nonsense had been laid to rest after the CNN expose that was aired a year or so ago, debunking the conspiracy theorists. They even went so far as to see how the theorists had edited existing video to further reinforce the propaganda. One specific quote was an official saying something like "The plane passed overhead, and it looked like a missle hitting the building" or something to that effect. Of course, the guys working to proliferate the conspiracy conveniently edited out the first half of that piece of footage, airing only the footage showing the official saying "It looked like a missle hitting the building".

I think it was a 757. Look at the one that hit not too far from me in Summerset, PA. Flight 93. There was not much left of it either in the way of wreckage.

I've really enjoyed, and have learned from, reading these posts. My thanks to all of you who have written them. Broken Wrench, did you ever go to the soda machine for patches? It's amazing to me how thin the skin is on a '57. Steve and Tulio, gracias for finding the other sites. I'm curious as to where that large piece of skin on the lawn belongs on the airframe, the one with the red and white paint that shows up all the time in articles.

Reading these articles, and then reading their rebuttals and also opposing points of view to the official version of 9/11 is, for me, a lot like reading opposing viewpoints on, say, evolution or the Flood. Not having learned more science in school than enough biology to have fun on a Friday night, people can write in circles on some topics and I'll read in circles. That's why I wanted to post the original question here: to tap into the wealth of personal experience and insight of fellow wixers.

Rob Mears, I'm not quite ready to call inquiry and exploration of 9/11, particularly of alternate scenarios "nonsense", if for no other reason that the tendency of many institutions, including government, is to respond to natural disaster and human calamity both in ways that protect the power and interests of those institutions. The same organisms that have presented us with 9/11 truths have done their best to thwart full investigations of what happened. And when we remember that 9/11: The Official Version was brought to us by the folks that also gave us the bomber gap, the missile gap, the Gulf of Tonkin attacks, and tales of wmd's, I think that effort spent in critical investigation and inquiry is effort well spent.

It is left to the rest of us to determine for ourselves in any issue whatsoever what actually happened, who has what axe to grind, why various interested parties take the positions they do, if, or how has the truth been edited, and why. I am grateful that these posts are helping me reach my determinations.

Michael

I took a battle damage repair class and you could use anything you wanted as long as it didn't come off.. Of course it was for a one time flight to get the damaged plane to the rear for repairs in the advent of WW3.. Some used a soda can but that was a little to cheesey for me so I used a thick old oil can.

So next I want to know if they really were selling pork buns made from cardboard in China or was it a hoax? Did the Chinese government arrest the alleged hoaxers to save face in light of the upcoming Olympics and all the other food scares in China?

How about horse meat in Jack in the Box tacos...

Let's ask Neal Armstrong about the moon landing...

Did the Titanic really hit an iceberg...or was it the Olympic...

I heard the US military caused the 2004 Tsunami...

and of course there is Roswell and Area 51 to wonder about...

 :bs:

Is the Stargate at Cheyenne Mountain, or area 51?

Just how many green chicks did Kirk actually bang?

Is it sacreligious to think that the NAA T28B is a supreme gift from god?

Monterray Frozen Chimachanga, or Totinos Combination Party Pizza for dinner?

Mainenance buzz on Coor's light for a few hours, or go for it with shots of 18 yo Macallan, or do a kinda combo thing and not go to work tomorrow?

69 Z28 super sport, or 70 Boss Mustang?

Why do they laugh at me when I call for the low overhead approach and right break in the 172?

Oh my god, can the waitresses at Auburn be any hotter?

These, my friends, are the truely pressing questions and concerns of our times.

You can chunk this pentagon airplane cr@p on the same pile of sh1t that holds the ten or twenty dudes that shot JFK.

Actually, O.P., I was thinking about chucking it on the pile that holds that there is no such thing as Gulf War syndrome and that claims of genetic damage from agent orange are just another left wing communist plot. Mission accomplished.

Hi Michael!

If you are saying that the plane existed and crashed into the pentagon, I'm on board with that.

If you are saying that the crash was a consiracy, The pile is stacking up over at the moon landing sound stage. :D
