Fighter Factory is still doing a lot of work to "Wild Cargo". From what I have been told is that there was still alot to do to the bird after the restoration, namely adding the turret and decking out the interior plus she still needs to go to the paint shop. The guys were working hard and put forth a maximum effort on "Wild Cargo" but alas there just wasn't enough time. (Plus you have to consider his other 15+ aircraft that all need maintanance from time to time)

We are sure that all that is also in our future for our PBJ-1J restoration...TIME and more of a restriction...MONEY!

Good Luck in your project.

does anyone know why Barbie III, Devil Dog, and especially Grumpy didn’t make it? I was looking forward to seeing a Mitchell without stars on it.

I wonder if O'leary's rant in AC about the CWH Lanc at last year's Thunder made them think twice about coming this year.

If you're talking about O'Leary from Air Classics, he was at Thunder--he introduced himself to me on the ramp by my airplane and chatted briefly. At the time he introduced himself I knew there had been some controversy regarding the guy but couldn't remember what it was about.

I've never met him, so I probably shouldn't have commented. I have heard some less than charitable things about him from some, and last year after Thunder he published a full-page editorial in Air Classics (November 2006 issue) slamming the CWH for not doing a photo flight with the Lanc for him, and he accused them of being generally unsociable and only there to make money off us Americans. I wasn't at Thunder last year, but I've never known the CWH folks to be anything but super freindly.

I tried unsuccessfully to find the article online.

For the missing B-25s. All the B-25s that were on board the month before did show up. Yellow rose and Show me both were out a month or two before hand for blown engines. Grumpy and Devil dog were never booked. (Grumpy was only available for Sunday only, for full price, we thought about Grumpy long and hard and almost added it for the one day. Devil dog was more then we wanted to spend on one B-25) Barbie was on board untill 6 months out. They thought they would be in ILL. instead of AZ. They never left AZ and could not justify the trip.

Nice shots Trae. Thanks for letting us hang out by Special Delivery for most of the day. How was the trip home?

Thanks for hanging around! I still have to say, GREAT Chance Vought shirts!!! That was really cool!

The flight home wasnt all that bad. We flew commercial back home. The B-25 is still at YAM until this Friday. From there she goes to the Peoria show then onto Oshkosh.

Hi Trae... nice air-to-air of Panchito. I was probably in her at the time too. That was quite an adventure, wasn't it!

Cheers,
Richard
