Three "greased" landings ALL BY MYSELF . :D :D :D

Only mistake I made was on my 3rd take-off where I forgot to retract the flaps and did a "short field". Thought to myself, "How come I got off the ground so quickly?" Didn't realize I'd left 'em down (only 20 degrees though)
until I cut power opposite the numbers on downwind and reached for the flap handle and it was already 2 notches in. "Oh well", says I. "No point in bothering with 'em now."

Bring on that cross country. :roll:

Awsome job Mudge. My first solo was the most free feeling I have ever had. When I got back, they cut the back of my shirt to shreds, and then sprayed me with the hose. Lucky for me it was summer time.

A hose might not be good enough down here - except in the winter... J/K

Congratulations Mudge! I had the privilege of watching another student solo today in front of his parents and son. He did a great job, and it was fun to watch. I can still remember my first solo. I didn't get my shirt cut either! I didn't want it cut, and my instructor said that he wasn't going to do it anyway, because he didn't know about the tradition when he started out, and was wearing a nice, new expensive shirt that he'd only had a few weeks - and the instructor cut it. Said he kind of didn't care for the deal.

For this special occasion, I must come out of lurk mode to congratulate you! I met you and Mrs. Mudge in front of the P-61 at Reading when I saw your WIX shirt. It was a pleasure and it was so nice to meet Mrs. Mudge too. Hope you had as great a time there as I did!

Wondeful Mudge, now you are a pilot! Congatulations and my admiration for your determination and perserverance. One thing though, if you are going to be a big shot acro or warbird type pilot, you must change your habit of honestly admitting your mistakes in public. Of course, none of us ever make any mistakes.
