I recieved my Harvard ride on Thursday this week. I went with pilot John Rowland who was a RCN pilot who flew SNJ's and Havard's in the Royal Canadian Navy and Retired as a pilot for Air Canada. The aircraft we flew was RCAF 20412 which is painted as a "Goldilocks" aerobatic display aircraft from Moose Jaw Saskatchewan in the early 1960's. John started the aircraft, taxied and took off the aircraft. He then let me fly it for about 25 minutes. I was surprised to see how light the aircraft is on it's controls. The aileron and rudder are extremely light. It was a bumpy day so it was difficult to maintain altitude. John demonstrated how to do a "wingover" and allowed me to perform about six on my own. I then flew back to the Hamilton airport and John did a museum approach at 300 ft. AGL, which is a flyby of the museum for picture taking from below. We then did a tight base leg and final approach as there was a WestJet 737 on a six mile final.

Nothing like your first Harvard ride. I know I had fun on mine. Congrats.
