Hi!

A friend of mine just saw a white Lysander fly over the region North of Montréal. I think it may have been a scale replica.

Anyone knows anything about flyable Lysanders appart from the CWH and Vintage's?

 :?: :?:

As far as I know there are no flying Lysanders in Canada (other than the two soon to be airworthy ones that you mentioned). Sounds interesting, lemme know what you find out.

Interesting observation !

There have been "rumours" for the past couple of years that Harry Wheratte's Lysander actually flew once or twice.
(I saw a pic of it suposedly at an airshow last year.)
If true , I am sure Mike Potters group would never jeoprodize everything and fly it illegally.
I would love to know if it did do the odd unofficial trip while at Harry's .....

The one that has been seen was white and not in the target tug scheme.

I'm thinking maybe of a scale replica of some sort...

Right.

Speaking of.

I know Mr Potter now has Harry Wheratte's AC.

But there is also the other one he sold out west before.

Any news on the one out West ?

Olivier, are you back in town or still out ?

Just a guess, but a white airplane looking like a Lysander has a good chance of being a Stinson Reliant.

Here's a link to a picture...

I was the one who posted the picture of Harry Whereatt's Lysander at the Saskatoon Airport in August 2006. As far as I know the airplane is with Mr. Tom Coates of Saskatoon and will be displayed at the Canada Remembers Airshow in Saskatoon this coming August 18th and 19th. This Lysander is painted in the yellow and black target tug scheme. I believe Harry told me he has never flown this aircraft, but I have seen video of the engine being started and run in the farm yard. I am not sure if the aircraft was flown or trucked to Saskatoon last summer.

Meh, guess what.

It turned out it was an ISLANDER and not a LYSANDER. In guess my friend need to work on his pronunciation and me on my ear cleaning.
