Monday, July 15: low cloud cover and heavy rain.
Day: Small raid damaged Westland Aircraft factory and runway at Yeovil in Somerset. Light force of Do 17s prevented by Hurricanes from hitting Channel convoy. At RAF station St. Athan, south Wales, airfield cratered. Railway lines near Avonmouth, Somerset, hit.
Night: No bombing, Some mines laid.
Aircraft Losses: RAF 1, Luftwaffe 3.

Heavy rain and low cloud throughout the British Isles.
Combat Report
Once again bad weather hampered the German offensive with a few small raids reported during the morning on Brighton, the Cardiff area and off the Norfolk coast.
The afternoon saw raids over Liverpool, Drem in Scotland, St. Athan in Wales, a convoy off the Norfolk coast, the Westland Aircraft factory near Yeovil was bombed and railway lines near Avonmouth. 15 Do17's made one of the largest raids of the day over the Thames Estuary at about 1415hrs. This was intercepted by Hurricanes of No: 56 Squadron scrambled from North Weald.
During the night mines were thought to have been dropped in Liverpool Bay and along the East Coast from Norfolk to Newcastle.
Statistics
R.A.F. Losses: 5 aircraft damaged or destroyed and 1 pilot killed.
Luftwaffe Losses: 8 aircraft damaged or destroyed and 5 pilots & aircrew killed or missing.
NOTE: Losses include non-combat patrols and accidents.

It took a team of 4 armourers less than 10 mins. to rearm a Spitfire. Ammunition boxes replaced, belts fed through, barrels swabbed out and guns cocked.
Do 17Zs flying low level without fighter escort.
An exhausted Sgt. G. Booth of No. 85 Sqd. Shot down Sept 1, succumbed to wounds in Feb. 1941.
He 111 sweep over English coast line. Note German splinter camoflage.
Oberleutnant Fischer of 7/JG 27 survived this forced landing in Windsor Great Park on Sept 30 after losing out to RAF fighters.
