I always thought Dick Miller would have made a good Claire Chenault. He a little too old these days though.

Yeah, that or Alec Baldwin may reprise his role as General Doolittle in "Pearl Harbor". (I sincerely hope not!)

I was surprised that they missed a great oppourtunity to have Alec Baldwin star in a movie he belonged in...."Letters from Iwo Jima".

Ed Harris was my first thought, but Brue Willis might be OK. The only problem is that both are too tall. Don't even get me started on Alec Baldwin and "The Film That Shall Not Be Named."

As for the Germans and Scientology, this is nothing new. The German government classifies it as a cult, designed to extort money from gullible followers (rightfully, in my opinion.) A few years ago they wouldn't let Travolta into the country for a movie press tour because they were afraid he'd promote his "faith."

If not for the Scientology issue, the German Gov't would probably welcome Cruise..I believe he's playing the guy in charge of the plot to assassinate Hitler.

I had no idea that they were doing a serious budget movie about this incident. Ironically, the wife of this man (the German in charge of the assassination attempt) just died recently, at the age of 102!

Cheers,
Richad

Actually, any of the characters that are opposing the United States would be appropriate for Alec Baldwin.

Well, I always like war films that portray the real people to a tee. Doolittle seemed to be kinda short, older looking man with a grandpa face, kinda scruffy, with a professional atitude, smart, and someone willing to take risks.

At first I was going to say Richard Jaeckel would be great as Gen Doolittle, but I just sadly found out that Richard Jaeckel died in 1997.  (he didn't look to bad for his age)

But I came to another PERFECT guy for the portray of Col/Gen Doolittle. R. Lee Ermey! :D

What do you think?

Cheers,
Nathan

P.S. My third thought would have been Robert Conrad? :?

R Lee is much too flamboyant to be Doolittle.

How about Robert Loggia, or Dale Dye?

I know this will sound funny. But maybe Chuch Yeagor could play doolittle?

Ed Harris was also my first nomination, and let me just say for the record, I'll watch anything Ed Harris is in.... ;)

... or anything with airplanes in it for that matter. Actually, I am still trying to catch up on all the great aviation movies and tv series out there - there are just so many and so few hours in a day.
