If you notice in "Stranglove", while they have the B-52 flying over the Arctic landscape, the shadow of the plane on the ground is unmistakably a B-17, and the B-17 that shot the footage was the plane that later became "Fuddy Duddy" IIRC.

I was home today sick with a nasty little bug. They were doing an Errol Flynn marathon on TBS, and "Dive Bomber" was one of the movies. What an absolute jewel! It's interesting what you can pick up in the background, like the PBYs, both in pre-war and medium blue colors on the base while Erroll Flynn is flying his PT-17(?) inverted with Fred MacMurray in the background. I imagine in its day, this must have been a spectacular film given the (mostly) realistic portrayal of the airplanes and that it was shot in color.

Anyone pick up the recently released "special edition" of 12 O'Clock High? And if so, is there anything extra on it worth buying another copy for? My DVD basically just has the movie on it with no extras.

Bombers B-52, Toko-Ri, Toward the Unknown, and just for the A-1's, Flight of the Intruder and for the marvolous F-8 Crusader that long boring movie by Kevin Costner about the Cuban Missile Crisis.
