There was an open house at the airport today. It featured a few interesting airplanes, have a look and see.

Now for the fun. Take a guess at what type of airplane this spark plug is out of.

Hi Glenn,

Man, I really like that P-40! :D Thanks for posting the pictures.

As for the spark plug. I have no idea but I saw the date on it and am going to take a wild guess and say C-124?

Hey Glenn,

how's it going? Your grandfather's P-40 looks great. I should come over again sometime and check it out again, chat with you and your Grandfather and just drool over his plane. :)

Cheers,

David

Great pics, really like the Norseman, you don't see them very often.

Hey Dave,

That you should. It would be great to have you over again. The plane is looking mighty fine isn't it?

The Norseman belongs the the British Columbia Aviation Museum. Its the first time I've seen it up close. I never realized how simple the interior of it is. Just a few seats, a control panel. and some sheet metal. You'd think for a plane of that size would have a more complex interior.

The LS-88 spark plug is approved for use in some models of the Wright R-1820.

I remember seeing the Norseman restoration a few years ago when I passed through the museum. It sure looks great now. That P-40 is just incredible.
