This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Roger, thanks for the wonderful photos. Seeing them both en masse and as individuals is very powerful.

Our Local area is very fortunate to have a group of T-6 Pilots who fly around to several parades in Southeaster MI. They fly over the parades, and cemetary services on Memorial Day, as well as other times throughout the year for Military Funerals Most of these guys belong to a group called the Screamin Rebels. Today 9 T-6's arrived at Tecumseh MI. airport. Here a a few shots of some of those that were there.

Had a fly-over by four F-15's in the missing man formation today by the Oregon Air National Guard. Shortly after a B-17 flew over going south over town. Most fitting salute to our Veterans.

Nice shots Roger! The ceremony in Westlake was a nice one this year, with a flyover by a C-17 from March ARB and a flight of 7 T-6s (Condor Flight). They honored a local boy that was killed in action on January 27th. His gravesite was awash with flags, flowers and memorabilia. As I stood paying my respects, an older gent stepped up next to me, snapped to attention and saluted. It was very moving and emotional for me.
Time diminishes the pain of the losses from my years in service, but seeing fresh grave markers for the boys of today gets harder each year for me.

It's been a while since I've been to Punch Bowl also, I'm going over there next year, so I plan to visit there. We spread my dad's ashes at Pearl eight years ago, so that will be part of my visit.

The one quote that still has me thinking is from Dick Winters at the end of Band of Brothers. "Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?" "No", grandpa says, "but I served in a company of heroes." I still get a lump in my throat when I watch that.
