1985 Vintage Blue Angels..

Thu May 24, 2007 11:36 pm

I found a few pictures of the Blue Angels at Denton, TX Municipal  in 1985.
Looks like a great show, FiFi, SJ, Tinker Belle, a bunch of other stuff!

How did I miss this one? The Blues will never do little muni's again...

Not the best pics...

Thanks so much for posting these pix of one of my all-time favorite Blue Angels a/c "in action".

Yeah, the A-4's were my favorite as well. Cool shots!

Hey Zane,

I was at that show. Great fun! While it's still a blast to watch the Blues rip up the sky in their awesome Hornets, those little "Scooters" had so much energy and were so maneuverable that they made for a great display.

It was great to see all of the warbirds, too. I know I have a whole bunch of poor quality photos from that show, I just don't know where they are!

My parents flew down from Delaware in my Dad's Cherokee 140 that week, and we all went to the air show. Mom had her leg in a cast after some knee surgery, and the parking attendents let us park in the handicapped parking so that she wouldn't have to trek across the parking lot (a freshly mowed pasture). As I recall, it was about 100 degrees that day, and my car overheated during the never-ending wait to get out of the airport to head home.

Ah, yes, the good ol' days!
