I'm gonna try and drag my dad out there on either Saturday or Sunday. I'll definitely have to take Mike up on his half-price deal.

I'm taking my oldest snot monster (3 1/2) up to meet my Father in Law and nephew for some pancakes tomorrow morning.
It looks to be a much less affair soggy this year ...
I'm not sure I'll have the usual addmission package with me this time Mike
The only places I know of where people drink beer that early are Wisconsin and Texas ...

Don't know about the show, but Lacrosse is such a pretty place. I've passed over it many times but am usually Oshkosh bound. I may find time this year to visit the area. As for Mohawks, looking at em is the way to go, as long as you don't have to hear em. WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY?

The family and I decided to hit the Lacrosse airshow instead. Had a great time but got one heck of a good sunburn! I'll try to post a couple pics soon.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this bird had been towed out of the weeds and now chained down on the edge of the concrete ramp...
I wonder if it is going to recieve more TLC anytime soon?

I went there Sunday when it was cold and windy out. Kids enjoyed themselves.

Of course the only thing that really ticked me off was an older lady at the Redtail booth snipped at my son about spinning the prop on the model airplane they ad on display. Kinda pissed me off...as she acted like she didn't want us around the table...DUH kids are going to play with models, put it up!

Anyways, other then that, had a pretty decent time. I think my daughter laughed more about the Mini-Donut guy bounching all over in the wind, then anything else!

Ouch! I’m truly sorry about your bad experience with one of our people. If it was one of the wooden models we usually display, they cost us about $100 dollars so hopefully you can understand her protective attitude towards it. That said a polite demeanor still counts in my book!

Also, please understand that at many shows display space is very limited and not optimal (I was not at ANE so I have no idea what the display arrangement was). In most cases we are faced with either putting display pieces within reach or not displaying them at all. Keeping things both viewable and safe boils down to a balancing act between the general viewing public and the volunteers manning the booth.

As a child Dad impressed (Upon my backside) that there is "no touching without permission". He told me he did not earn enough money to repair everything us kids might break by mistake. Of course as a child I didn't understand his reasoning but now that I know the value of a buck and how expensive things are to repair or replace, it is now all to clear to me!

I appologize, this medication that I am on for this stomach cancer thing, has me wacked out and I speak before posting sometimes before I realizd I was being an ass.

I love the redtail project and I haev helped with donating for rivets and purchased a little P-51 at he stand for my son that day to help support.

My son just gets so excited when he see's toys, or what he thought are toys. Now the real planes, he knows not to even touch....lol!

I wish nothing but the best in getting that plane flying again, not only for Don's sake, but to educate the public on the amazing plane, the people who rebuilt and built it and of course the famous Tuskegee airman!

My suggestion, would be to maybe have it up, or in a glass case....that way, kids would not be so tempted in reaching for it....He is 4 1/2 and already knows what a P-51 is. I love it!

I at 4 actually ran away from home ( 1 mile ) to walk down to the airport to watch the airplanes fly. Of course every cop in town was looking for me, and here I was at the local airport just sitting there, watching planes take off.

Great Project, I nothing but respect for you folks trying to get her flying again, and the hours it takes even at the little stands selling items to raise money.

Well, I hate my mother because of the fact she used to beat us as a child, I wont touch my kids....but they usually listen with reason and a stern voice.
If not, I simply put them back in the van and go home not taking them again until they are older.
