Good questions, George.
To answer your first question, no, none of the "A" models ever had a top turret. They did, however, have a hole in the top of the airplane that a gun, mounted on a ring, stuck out of. Ol' 927 still has that ring installed, but when the airplanne was converted from a bomber to a transport, they routed the control cables through the top of the airplane, which is right across that top gunner's ring. I would need to re-route the cables around that ring to put that position back in place......which is in the long term plan.
Second, I have every intention of finishing the greenhouse for the cockpit. You just can't imagine how many people have asked me about that. It's funny, because as detail oriented as I can sometimes be, I never really paid that much attention until everyone started asking me if I was going to change that this year.

If you haven't noticed, we did try to cheat a little and install portions of the greenhouse (two small windows above each pilot), but that is obviously only a starting point. The two challenges for finishing the greenhouse are to relocate the switchery that's inbetween and above both pilots to their proper location (flight engineer's panel). And fabricating the three piece windshield. I actually have no doubt we can get that done, but I just ran out of time this year.
I hope that helps answer your questions.
