F-86 Sabre

Sun Feb 11, 2007 10:51 pm

Hey guys,

I'm looking to do a F-86 Sabre project. Get one back in the air. Does anyone have one out in a field rotting away, that would be willing to give it away. Small Museum with small budget, that needs a flag ship. Thanks for your help.

No offense Eric but it's a tall order to try and acquire a Sabre project...and even taller trying to find somebody willing to give one away. I'd suggest keeping an eye open on "Barnstormers". I have yet to see an entire project for sale but have seen cockpit sections and numerous F-86 parts that pop up for sale every now and then. There's a guy on there that sells a lot of Sabre parts...I think his name is Walter Powell. Try contacting him and see if he has any connections.

Best of luck to you in your search!

John

Thanks John for the input.
I know that it is a shot in the dark, but you never know. You always have to try. Even if I could get a good chunk of the Fuselage to start with. I could find the other items over time. I will check with Walter Powell.

Thanks
Eric

I want to thank David Staffeldt at The Warbird Heritage Foundation for his help in making our hopes for a F-86 Sabre flag ship project come a little closer. With the donation of parts and information we can use. It is always a great thing when Museums help each other in the world of retorations. I hope to help them in any way that I can also.

MANY THANKS DAVID !!!!!

Eric,
It's good to see those parts that we won't use go to a good home. Stay in touch.
Take Care
David
