Gary,

I finally received my spring issue of Dispatch. I really enjoyed your article and photos. I wish all of the WIXers could see it. Regarding other “issues” such as donor names etc. you do whatever you and your crew feel is best for your aircraft. There will always be people with different opinions and that is fine but somebody has to make the decisions and the worker bees should have the last vote. Like the man said, “ You got to pay if you want to play”! My crew needs tens of thousands of dollars to finish our project and if anybody out there knows how we can do that without considering things like nameplates let me know!

Thanks for all that you and your crew do for the CAF. When I make my four and a half hour round trip every week to work on the PBJ I can’t help but think of all of the time you put in at Midland.

Dan

Man I'm really getting pumped up about the unveiling on the 12th. And I've seen it!! I also wish I could get off work on Monday to go over to the hanger because If all goes to plan, Gary will do the runup, But I've gotten busy and off days are hard to come by right now.

Gary ~ I've got a "let's stay focused on the thread" question for you :D

How many passenger seats will there be when the time comes to start selling rides this summer ?

Our insurance allows 12 people to be on board at one time. 4 crew (pilot, copilot, flight engineer, loadmaster/scanner), and 8 passengers.

I just got back to Midland moments ago. I'm going to the house to get rested up (cross country flying in a tiny little Cassutt Racer is tough on a fat boy). I'll see if I can get some work done on the B-24 and get y'all an update late tomorrow. No promises on the update though.

Gary

Hi Gary, when you said you had to go pick up the Cassutt I assumed it would be with a pick-up & trailer and that it would be another project.Guess it must give you a bit of stress relief to be able airborne just by yourself, stay well, mate.Cheers,Pete

Thanks for the interest in the Cassutt, everyone. I'd be happy to post an update on it and how the flight went, but I reckon I should do that in the Off Topic Forum. I'll see what I can come up with in a day or so.

You mean you didn't have a laptop and web cam in the aircraft? Shesh, you are slipping... :D

Actually, the idea of a Gary web-cam is scarily intreaguing. Can you bleep the internet?

Sorry y'all. No real update on the B-24 today. I worked on shooting rivets on the tailgunner's and waistgunner's positions. I also had a WIX lurker, Jim, show up unexpectedly to help. I had him doing some rivet work on the tailgunner's area as well.

For those of you interested in my recent Cassutt Racer adventure, I just made a post on the "Off Topic" forum, here on WIX. I'll try to remember to check it frequently in case y'all have any questions. I typically just stick to the Warbird side of WIX though. :)
