Ryan,

Awesome pictures! The group photo is great. It would have been great to be there to honor these men. It’s sad to see that there are so few of them left.

As a side note, in the caption under the picture of Kurt and Doug in the B-25 cockpit you wrote “the Red Tail Project has a new respect in your book”. You’ve peaked my curiosity…was there something that steered you away from the project or where you never really aware of it’s entire mission?

Neither, it's just that when you put a face with a name, and that person treats you decently, it's easier to think of it more tangibly... Kind of like having met Gary A. at Midland last year. Red Tail's a LONG ways away from me, and I'm not fabulously wealthy to help out, but I could see from what Doug was wearing that the project is important to him... It was also really nice of him to let me come up in the cockpit just before they left for home. It's one thing to know people somewhat through screen names and message boards, and sometimes it's better that way, but when you meet decent (ok, well based on a 15 minute conversation) folks who are friendly, it means more. I guess I'm saying that's the best possible kind of PR. The same would go for Trae and his family, and the crew of Pacific Prowler. I'll never think of them as "those guys on the message board" again.

Ryan
