Interesting Nose Art Discovery

Found this while doing some markings research...
The plane is B-17G 43-38537 of the 457th BG. Apparently she was originally named "Murderous Witch," but it some point the name was rather crudely changed to "Mysterious Witch." I wonder if this was ordered because of the German propaganda surrounding the loss of the B-26 "Murder, Inc."
