The Pennsylvania section of the Locator has been reviewed, and there are a number of new entries. You can find the PA section at…
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.php?Region=PA

As usual there are a number of entries in which I could use your assistance. If you live in Pennsylvania or are passing through and you can help, please let me know.

Regards,

Mike

Here is the “Need Help” list…
EDIT: The list was moved to my most recent post.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

The Antique airplane restaraunt is not ont eh Airport, but a few miles down the road.

There is an F-94 right off of the highway in Erie, it is a VFW display.

There is an F-86L in Cory infront of a VFW

Keystone Wing of the CAF is in Hangar 20 I believe at the Allegheny County Airport.

THe T-33 in New Kensington is on display in a park and upkept very well. It was just buffed out. I will get some pics today for you.

#8 I drive past KMDT everyday and am not aware of any aircraft displayed. No gate guards or terminal displays. A small ANG unit operates out of there but i don't know what lurks in their hangar.

Got it.

If anyone can nail down the exact location I am sure it would be appreciated by those attending the MAAM WWII Weekend in June.

I have an approximated location as 41 56 10.57 N 79 38 41.63 W. Am I close?

It would be cool if they painted the street addresses on the roofs, but they don’t. It wouldn’t happen to be the one with the blue roof to the west would it?

Pictures would be great. I am sure Scott would like them for the registry. If you can give me a set of coordinates or maybe the names of the streets of a near-by intersection that would be great.

There appears to be one displayed. I can see it in the GE image at 40 11 34.27 N 76 44 40.38 W. Or go to…

Hi Mike,

There is also a MACE rocket outside the town of Dushore, PA. In Sullivan county.

And here in Towanda, there is a Huey at the VFW.

Can this help you Mike?

Allentown, Queen City Airport, the Alied Air Museum is defunct and nothing remains.

Bethel, Grimes Airport is the home of the excellent Golden Age Air Museum.

New Cumberland, Capitol City Airport, the A-10 is on the south side at the New Cumberland Army Depot.

Reading, the Antique Airplane Resturant is (was) located east of town on Rt-422 at the Dutch Colony Inn, it will be closed in the near future and may already be gone.

This restaurant serves three meals daily, but is known for its homemade breakfasts. They serve a wide variety of breakfast fare, offering inovative specials during the week and on weekends. It is located in The Best Western Dutch Colony Inn & Suites hotel, but also has a very loyal local and regional following.

Thanks for the tip. Feel free to share info of locations not in the Locator anytime.

Is the VFW on Bridge Street between 4th and 5th?

GilT wrote:

As of January there was an H-3 still on site. I’ll update the entry.

GilT wrote:

I already have that one in the Locator. I took another look at their website and reviewed some of the pics. Using the Maps Live images I was able to determine the exact location.

Is it a recent (2-3 years) display? The GE images in that area are good, but I can’t find it. Do you know any street names I could use to find it?

I’ll add a note about it potential closure.

I found New Galilee using GE. It is a small town. The GE satellite images for that area are very good, but I couldn’t find the AH-1. No surprise though, since helos, especially the AH-1, are very difficult to find on sat images. Google wasn’t helpful in locating the VFW in the town, except I think the post number is 8106. Do you happen to know the name of the street, or the streets of a near-by intersection?

What is the name of the street it is on? If you happen to know the coordinates that would be even better.

Thanks everyone!

New Cumberland, KCXY, note the HUGE warehouse just south of the threshold to Rwy 30, then the parking lot to the NW of the warehouse (on the closed Rwy 2/20) and the round cement pad just west (between the parking lot and the taxiway), I believe the A-10 is mounted on the cement pad, will check next time I pass over, or land.

I'll be damned.

I did a little research and sure enough there is an F-51 there. Here is a little photographic evidence (see page 8 )

It is on the grounds of the 193rd Special Operations Wing
