This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Holding a discussion on gun control is veering too closely to a political discussion, I fear. And we all know how those discussions end...

I agree. This one needs to make the jump to "off-topic" anyway. More people need to step out of the "Hangar" and check the other forums anyway!

I had guns around me all my life and not one time did one go off the deep end. Until they make the criminals accountable for there actions, things like this will happens. It saddens me deeply that a person would do this to another person, but taking guns away wouldn't change anything..

Just a note, if they want to ban guns. That means for everyone. Police, military all have to be included. Why? they are humans also.
In Tacoma Washington some years ago, the Chief of Police shot his wife.
And constantly you hear on the news about a military person shooting his wife. And these are the ones that will have access to guns if they take them from everyone else. Its just like the global warming issue, all an agenda. Here they have let criminals out of jail, and they stole cars and then crashed into police killing 3 of them. You need to have freak control way before you have gun control. Cause with out a gun you are fair game to a home invasion robbery and a myriad of other such things. As long as freaks are allowed to pray on others this will happen. All those killings could have been done with something other than a gun. Wasn't it in that columbine school deal a propane tank or tanks were found? Next they will be banned, then something else then something else. And for sure they would want to ban private ownership of aircraft, as you could drop any heavy weight out of one and cause harm. You all need to wake up and like the Bible says "Do not be missled" do not give up your freedoms.
For anything contrived or otherwise.

Sad, very sad. Americans are killing each other to the toon of about 27,000 per year and no one seems to be able to do much about it.

One of the WVa students interviewed said that the majority of the dead were lined up and shot one by one.
I can't imagine a group of people just standing there waiting to be next. If this is true we have truly turned into a nation of sheeple !

One bloke with a CCW could have prevented all but perhaps the first one or two fatalities.

I think we need to just take a time out now, and feel for the people that lost their lives, and those who lost loved ones. THere will be time to discuss everything else later.

I agree with Eric as I have often wanted to see a gun jump up off the table and shoot something under it's own power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please -
Neither the pro- or anti- gun advocates are going to convince each other here, and that argument certainly has no place in this forum - take it to the Off Topic if you have to. No finger pointing, please just hold it for here, and now.
Right now, what is important is that we should take a moment's thought for those who were pointlessly murdered today, and their family and the institution. If appropriate, prayers may be sent as well.
A tragic day.

This time, I'm avoiding all coverage. Forever. That's it for stories like this, I'm done, I can't take it anymore.
