I read that the Mustang Ranch was closed and sold. Wonder if that will cut down on attendance by some of the old crowd. Every year I think about going again, but it seems to come at a conflicting time, interferes with the annual Bar-B-Q the Bird festival back in Texas. One of my memories is taking my shoes off so as not to scratch anything on Strega, and finding the wing so slippery I had to crawl across it.

Got snowed in one night at the ranch. I've been stranded in worse places. Probably wouln't been any fun if you were broke.

Well, there's been a lot of water through the reactor since that pic was taken. That is Reno '94 Neil, empty spot next to Pegasus and I remember the day well. As far as Ridge Runner speed, 34 & 125 was netting us in the low 470's! Not bad for a "daily driver" as Dan calls it. Don't give up on Mustangs--- it ain't all bad. There are those that doubt, but a couple of us WILL make it work again. As they say-- stand by!! A lot of talkers but very few doer's.

The Ranch really closed over fifteen years ago. Can't remember the exact year, maybe 1990 or so, but we all were planning a "field trip" out there that year when Uncle Sam closed it down and then re-opened it.

In downdown Reno, there were t-shirts to be had that said "Uncle Sam Wants YOU!....at the Mustang Ranch." You know the old artwork with Uncle Sam pointing straight out at you.

Really wish I would have bought one of those shirts!!!!

They burned down the last building at the Mustang Ranch a week or two ago for practice. The rest had been moved off to use at another "establishment" hoping to open under the same name. Big news item here!
That race in 05 when RR was catching the Bear was one of my all time favorites. A LOT of yelling and cheering around us and I love my video of the race!

That truly was something to see. I think Dan & I still hold the fastest "stock" Mustang qualifying at 438mph and with the 2 laps at 470 I think that is something as well. What coulda been, all for a stuck ring.
