Red Tail Reborn (8:00 p.m. Sunday)

Sat Feb 10, 2007 8:10 pm

I think this might have been posted before but I wanted to remind everyone that the Red Tail Reborn documentary will be on PBS 45 & 49 tomorrow (Feb. 11) at 8:00 p.m.

Today there was a special showing at MAPS Air Museum and I must say that this was really awesome. It was really well done! :D

Enjoy!

Hi,

I HOPE that PBS will offer this DVD for sale soon. I have had the pleasure of seeing this airframe several times. PBS usually does a fantastic job on their productions....the Nova Program about the B-29 "Frozen in Time" ....aka...the BOTCHED attempt to retrieve the Kee Bird.

All,

The film was produced by Hemlock Films (Adam White of “The Restorers” fame) in Ohio. Since they have worked with the local PBS affiliates on this project that’s where the film will debut. Adam is working with PBS network to get it aired nation wide. I will do my best to make a post here to let everybody know if/when this occurs.

Phantom Ace: Give that feedback to your local PBS affiliate when it airs in your area. The more positive feedback they hear from the viewing public the better the odds are of it going nationwide.

With your help and support this airplane will fly again!

Thanks,
John

I did email the station and this was the reply...

Dear Mr. Spencer,

Thank you for your interest in our programming — and for your kind words about Red Tail Reborn. I was at the premier as well — what a perfect setting for the event! Thank you so much for allowing us to hold it there. And I didn't even know that the museum existed!

We don't know yet when it will be aired nationally. It has been offered to PBS, but they have just begun their review process. That will take at least a month. Then it will be another four to nine months before it will be scheduled for broadcast. If it's rejected by PBS, it will be offered to another distributor and the whole process betins again.

Thanks again for watching PBS 45 & 49.
