Hey gang,

Excuse the "non-warbird" plea, but seeing as we have some creative types here and the fact this is airshow related... oh well.

I need a creative painter for a special aircraft "nose art" for a brand-new MX2 aerobatic plane that will be touring the airshow circuit starting in May 2007. The pilot is the #2 ranked aerobatic pilot in the world (as of the 2006 competition in Poland in 2006) and will be progressively flying more and more shows with the plane, flying the National and International competitions, and most likely will be flying the Red Bull Air Race in 2008.

The plane will be all-black and the art will encompass the entire nose of the plane. The look is more "life-like" and is in a fantasy style much like Boris Vallejo or the like. Airbrush may be the best medium, so I am looking for folks here that may have some talent, or know someone who might fit the bill.

You can email me at rkeough@warbirdsresourcegroup.org (it's fixed now) or call my cell at 603-689-6807. Thanks!

-Ryan

Sorry Ryan, I can't help you. I'm looking for an air brush artist myself. Not to do an airplane, though. To do the back of my jacket.

Any of youse troops wanna' make some $$$?
Anyone?...Bueller?...Anyone?

Ryan: Don't know his rate schedule or time avialability, but you might give Ryno off of CMT's Trick My Truck a try. He does some really wild and imaginative stuff on some of the rigs they do.

Ryan, I just happen to know a guy (and his crew) that recently made a stop by Midland to paint some nose art on an ol' jalopy here. You may recognize his screen name on WIX........Django. I'd suggest contacting him.

The motorcycle world is booming with airbrush artists. What part of the country will the plane be in for painting?

Thanks for the plug Gary! 8)

I would agree that it sounds like you would be best to find a custom motorcycle painter to do it. Is the plane in NH?

I designed this "nose art" and had a motorcycle painter do the work cause our customer wanted it airbrushed and under the clear coat.

I do airbrush work but I am incredibly rusty at it. The last thing I did was just solid colors (the fish in the game room thread).

Yes, the airplane is in NH... but can stop along the route of its delivery flight between Dallas and NH for paint if need be. That will happen in May.

Email me any recommendations of hot rod or motorcycle folks that may work!

Thanks,
Ryan

Hey, Fred!
Our friend and local B-24/B-17 Driver Roland had his harley painted with Stars and Bars with rivets, nose art and such by a guy that his sons HD dealership uses.
We have not seen him in a few months but I can give another friend of ours that works at the bike shop a call and get some info.

OH, I see its Rob! What kind of airplane?
Since he is even bigger than he was last year I guess that means he wont be doing our Fireworks again?

Ryan,

If Joplin, Missouri's on the way 'tween Dallas & NH, might contact the truck guys at:

http://www.chromeshopmafia.com/contact.html

and see if they'd do it...
