Including this...
What is the airplane between the A-4 and the Skyraider?

That's not Subic Bay per say.
It's NAS Cubi Point. The bay's in the background.
Beyond that Olongapo  :? :vom:
Just visible in the foreground is a Skyknight

Thanks for the info. When I first looked at the airplane I thought Phantom...the nose is for sure in the lineage...

Cool
Thanks

Thanks for the link - some interesting information and photos there. I've passed it on to some retired Navy fliers I know.

Here's a photo my Father took of the Cubi Pt. ramp during a port visit in '58 while flying F4D Skyrays with VF-23 aboard the USS Hancock. Interesting selection of aircraft - AJ Savage, A3Ds, SNBs, JD-1s, F9F-8P Cougar, TV-2 and Skyraiders - lot's of them.

Enjoy the Day! Mark

That was a trip down memory lane, in 26 years only pulled in there once, Carl Vinson CVN-70 1983. What a wild 10 days that was, was glad to get back underway and rest.

You should see it now. I was there in '02. Cubi point is a terminal for Fed Ex. Lots of Japanese money invested in commercial buildings all over Subic. I stayed in the old BOQ that's been converted(sort of)to a hotel.

While Subic was busy with new construction, Clark was a ghost town.

I was there in 58 on a Med cruise on the Essex.
