I'd have to check on the details, but I believe the CAF is restoring theirs for flight.

There was a guy here in Michigan who was building Storches back in the early '90s. I heard they were a combination of original parts and new-build components. There were at least two fliers I know of..N436FS was on display at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo for a couple of years waiting for a buyer. A Google search shows it now with the Flying Heritage Collection in Washington State.

The CAF Storch formally with the Hill Country Sq now with the Deleware Valley Wing should be up and flying this spring. Airframe is complete with engine work remaining. N40FS was the only D model (ambulance) flying in the country.

If you want to know how many survive worldwide then look at this excellent website (from link click on German Aircraft then choose Fieseler):
http://www.preservedaxisaircraft.com/

Just to whet your appetite, here's a shot I took recently of an example being restored to fly for a private owner at Old Warden here in the UK:

Deleware Valley is based in New Jersey, don't know which town. We used to fly it a lot down here in Texas, but you just can't go anywhere in it at 90mph and 22gals hr. it doesn't make a real good travelling machine.

Take a look on Mikael Olrogs site at: http://www.preservedaxisaircraft.com/

It says there are is one in Deerfield, MI - Fi 156C-2 #4471 - Private owner. I suspect it was one of the group of them that were restored by (his name escapes me now) in MI... the Collings and Weeks Storches were part of the lot.

That begs the question, what happened to the MS 505 that was in New Orleans (ex Taylor Energy?)--N505MS says it is in Bogulsa, LA now? Anyone know the status?

I think I saw 4471 flying at Willow Run shows in the late 1980s, before they were Thunder. Haven't seen it in a long time.

There was another one with yellow bands that used to appear around the midwest; I think I recall that it was Canadian registered. Haven't seen that one for a long time either. It was very nice, looked a lot like the one Kermit now has, but would need to go through my pics to see if it's the same.

This one has been in Southern California for a while. I don't know much about it though. The fuselage code is CF+TF.
