Here are some photos of my friend Doug's L-5 project. He started it in Chino about 8 years ago and is finishing it up now in Texas. Should be flying soon! He has tried t make it as authentic as possible, although a few items were added for the sake of safety and airworthiness in this day and age.

I've never seen a nicer, more authentically restored L-5 anywhere!

Where is this L-5 being restored in Texas? Wondering if I will see it in some of the airshows in West Texas. She certainly looks nice.

Thanks for sharing the detailed pictures...this type of detail helps me better understand all the components that make up a restoration.

Great work by Doug.

Hope to see it in the air soon. Any idea where he might actually fly it when he is finished?

It's being restored at an airport called Propwash. About 8 miles NW of the Texas Motor Speedway north of Fort Worth.

Yea, its in with several other L-5's so its in with good company. There are two other L-5's, and one L-3 just about ready to fly. B29flteng should come to the hanger and visit some time. hehe. Work has started up on the BT again.

That is one beautiful restoration! The radios look like they are in perfect condition. He's doing a great job!

You should see the sister ships coming together in the next hangar.
