Many years ago I had a maintenance crew chief named Paul Pearle? who flew 109s in WWII. He was shot down 7 times and was captured on the last time. One day he and one of our aeronautical engineers got to talking. The engineer was a navigator on B-17s during WWII. They both think they met during 1944 over northern Germany. They were both talking about time of day and location, weather conditions and were both convinced they occupied the same airspace that day. Anybody else have war stories like this?
