Here are some aircraft from two visits to POF in 1988 and 1991, also the POF Air Display 1988. I was not able to identify them. I hope some WIXers can help.

The first three are from visits to the museum April 20, 1988 and May 4, 1988. A Skyraider, Nord Stampe, and a P-80.

The next one is a P-51D taken May 7, 1991

The Last ones are 3 Avengers and P-51D Tally Ho II. I know the id of the Dauntless taken at POF Air Display May 14, 1988.

The second Avenger is the POF's TBM NX3875C and the third is its Hellcat N4994V, both in older paint schemes. The final P-51 is 44-74469. The first Avenger might be the same as the second, but in a later paint scheme? There was another TBM painted in these George Bush colors in California during the late 80s and early 90s also, but this looks like POF's. I can only assume that the F-80 is POF's 44-85488 pre-restoration.

Is that the Lucky Lady II B-50 fuselage behind the P-80?

Ah, yep, N28SF was the one I was thinking of. That was a regular from Madera to Mirimar during those years and still today I guess.

Anyone know the BuNo of the Skyraider???

I'd like to find out if it's still around.
(Hope it wasn't scrapped!)

Thanks,
Mike

It appears that the Skyraider is an AD-6/A-1H - if I noticed the cues correctly. (I think I did, but one never knows...)

Just checked warbirdregistry.org.
Could the Skyraider be either of these BuNos?
135332
139606
139665

Thanks,
Mike

Skyraider is most likely 139606.

Stampe was probably one owned by Don Lykins. He had a bunch of them as I recall.

Tally Ho was owned by Jerry Myles. Hard to say what the actual ID was on that one though as it changed regularly.

I was at that show too, Tally-HOII at that time was N7723C, 44-74469. I just checked the records on this site and they confirm: http://www.warbirdregistry.org/p51regis ... 74469.html

How about that first Mustang Bill posted? I have a pic of that one from almost the same date (mine is May 4, 1991) and it is another one that I was going to ask you all for help with.

You know, If I knew you guys were going to ask all these questions I would have taken better notes back then!

Problem is, slide film and the cost to develop was prohibitive for me back then to take as many photos as I do now with the digital camera.

I was also at Chino in the same timeframe, and wonder if the first 51 might have been N5441V. I seem to recall that it was being worked on in the early 90s!

Thanks for all the input in identifying most of the aircraft in the photos.

If this is any help the following two Mustangs were in the hangar the same day as the second P-51D (May 7, 1991). The first is P-51D 44-74908 N151BP and the next is P-51D 44-84961 N7715C, painted as 44-13334.

And I probably should have stopped taking pictures long enough to talk to someone (maybe you!) and ask what I was looking at! :?

Armed with that info I would definately say the 51 in primer is N5441V undergoing work at the PoF.
