From a very much younger Steve T

Steve and I first met back in the early '80s, when I was a 40 year old newbie author (Harvard! The North American Trainers in Canada) and he was a 17 year old high school kid with a penchant for aviation cartooning.

The attached sketch was one of a long series he did for me, taking payment in plastic model kits! Smart little beggar he was - I wish I had those kits on ebay right now! I have just moved to permanent digs after almost nine years on the road and yesterday, I happily rediscovered the drawings.

Doug--

Oh my... :D Time flies. That cartoon was done 24 years ago. (As I recall, I left off your moustache for some reason, and had to get you to send the cartoon back so I could add it on!)

Oh, and the kits...every one is still secure in my basement (which resembles a hobby shop run by Walt Soplata). eBay? Nah! Stuff's too cool.

Cheers

Steve
