Yep....one of these days the conspiracy of fates is going to line up correctly and I can get going on putting mine back into the air. Thought we were set to begin the hangar construction at our place in Arkansas, but due to circumstances we have to refinance our home and close on it prior to March......

Hey Dan.

My Grandfather is a amazing man isn't he? I wish I could say we still do start it, but we haven't for about 5-8 years.

Cheers,

Glenn Maude

snj-5: I was scanning through the people photos and was startled to see your photo of "SNJ-6" No 67 with NAS OAKLAND on the side. I didn;t know there was one painted like that and I would guess that it has to be based on my photo (attached) of Oakland's SNJ-5 (90836) Number 67. I shot this at the Naval Reserve hangar at Oakland on February 16, 1947 when it still retained its World War II camouflage. Image

Cool, thanks for posting that picture Bill! I must admit I think I've
seen that shot of yours before somewhere, but I never made the
connection to the Warbird Adventures scheme applied to their SNJ-6
(never let it be said that I have an eye for the details!!!).

A Google search says the Warbird Adventures SNJ-6 was N9809C
(cn 121-42817) former AT-6F/44-82095, SNJ-6/Bu 112049, but is now
flying as N451WA painted overall yellow with orange bands (some
shots at the link below):

Thanks Glenn. I'm sure many would enjoy seeing air under her wings again someday.

(I also have no idea where my original post went! Oh well... )

So, I finally figured out photobucket, and thought I'd toss my pictures on here.

This is where I fell in love with airplanes. Delta Air Park, near Vancouver. That's me!!!

Hey Scott,

Back off. 8)

Marina is very flattered, and I'm happy to say she's mine! Depending on how much flying we do, you may see some more pictures of Marina sneak in every now and again. Then again, I guess that means we need to befriend some warbird owners in the area to get some rides.

Cheers,

David

OK Scott, there are more and more "interesting" people photos being posted so I'll add one. I don't own or fly a warbird but here's some evidence of my long term interest in the subject. This is Lowry Field in 1943.Image

From left to right is Gen. Yeager, myself and my friend Clair at Oshkosh last year, after I did the interview with Gen. Yeager. He and Victoria treated us great.
