Glacier Girl new owner?

I heard that Glacier Girl has been sold and is in Texas with a growing collection.

Are you saying you have heard it has been sold again to a collector in Texas?

Anyone know the why behind the sale. I'm surprised no one in the family had a similar drive to keep GG as Roy did. He is a hero on par with the Soplatas of the world for what he did to bring her back. Did the taxman require the sale? I'm curious.

As far as the sale of GG goes, I'd almost bet that the heirs couldn't agree on
the disposition insofar as keeping it and opted for the cash. But that's just me.

I believe that the aircraft is already with the new owner and I do not think it is a secret.
I do not want to be the one to name the new owner just in case he wants to remain silent.
I do not personally know the new owner but I believe the news will be out very soon.

I am based at the next airport south of Denton and the newly purchased Bearcat and Corsair arent there. Think they are based further south down toward San Antonio.

As noted on other posts in this thread.... wonder if that same collector just added another one to it!?

According to the latest printings, she was supposed to join the "permanent" collection of Provenance, along with the ex-Gary Kohs Corsair. Bob Cardin was even supposed to move out to California to take care of her, and Hinton was still her only pilot. BDK also posted yesterday that she is going to be flying with the PoF Lightning sometime soon. Provenance is based out of French Valley Airport now.

However, if this has changed, and she has joined the growing collection in Texas most are thinking of, he is the gentleman that bought the Frank Borman TF-51D, as well as the ex-Tony Banta Bearcat and ex-Vintage Fighters Corsair. The mustangsmustangs database says the TF is owned by Rod Lewis of San Antonio, and she is registered to Lewis Aeronautical, LLC also of San Antonio. The Bearcat and Corsair show the same. However, if I remember right, I think King said that they were down in Cotulla.

If she does come to Texas, I would love to see her. Besides the F2G and the TFC Hawk 75, she is the one warbird that I would like to see most.
