Can't let this go without comment.
As you are probably aware, the President's great uncle helped liberate a subcamp of where the President visited today. He spoke today about the lifelong effect the war and the aforementioned liberation had on his great uncle. This uncle, by the way, will be joining him in Normandy tomorrow for ceremonies there.
He was also the first President to visit a concentration camp sight on German soil...all others have visited sites in other countries. His hosts were the German people...Chancellor Angela Merkel, in particular. His
guests were camp survivors. I'd imagine that at least Elie Wiesel will join him there as well.
I would respectfully suggest that the President has this agenda laid out rather well, and that there is nothing at all wrong with his various stops along this route.
I am left somewhat taken aback by the casual reference to the extermination of 10 million people of all sorts of humans as 'that old playing card'.
